Today's tip is short but powerful. You may find this one you use quite often.
In the standard toolbar, there is an icon that looks like a paintbrush. Use this to do fast copying of the formats from one cell or range to another. It is simple to use:
Select the cell or range with the format that you want to copy
Click the paintbrush icon on the standard toolbar
Select the cell or range that you want to format
That's it. What if you have multiple ranges you want to format? No problem- Excel has a solution there too. In the second step, instead of just clicking the paintbrush icon, double click it. Now you can paste the formats to multiple ranges, one at a time.
You can copy a whole range of cells with different formats, such as a block, series of rows or series of columns. What you copy doesn't have to have all the same format.
Give this a try. You will be on your way to better looking worksheets.
