Names Navigation

A great benefit of using named ranges in Excel is faster navigation.  It is very handy for large worksheets and workbooks.

Open the  Names_Multiple_Result file to follow along with this.

The key to making this work is how you name your named ranges.  The easier to remember, the more intuitive the names, the better.

Remember the name box near the top left of each worksheet, just above the column letters.  There is a drop down arrow that you can use to scroll through the names.  Click on a name and you will be taken to that range.

Try this to go to any range that is named in the workbook.  This will pull up all the names in the workbook, regardless of what sheet you are in.

If you have a lot of names set up in your workbook, here is another way to navigate.  Click the F5 key, which is the GoTo key in Excel.  You get the popup dialog box, but since you now use named ranges, you see these display as an option.  Click on any name to go to that range.

By using named ranges, you and your users can get around your workbooks much faster.
