While we can't think of any quantum leaps with Excel 2002, there were a number of nice features added.
Here is one in the nice to have category.
With Excel 2002, you can format the color of your worksheet tabs. This can be handy for visually putting together the tabs in groups and make larger workbooks easier to navigate.
In this latest version of Excel, when you right click on the sheet name, you get a new option in the menu called Tab Color. You can click on that and then get a range of color icons to choose from, similar to what you would have when formatting text or the background of a cell, for example.
The tab color will appear when you click on some other worksheet. If you choose a dark color for the tab, then the sheet name will be in white. So dark colors are OK.
When you click on the worksheet, the background will change to white on the sheet tab, similar to prior versions of Excel, but you will see the sheet name underlined in the color you chose.
If you have the 2002 version of Excel, give this feature a try.
